MAS Associates is a professional firm based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, providing accounting and bookkeeping, audit and assurance, tax, payroll, financial advisory and legal services to individuals and businesses.

2. Our services

The scope, fees and timelines of each assignment are agreed with you in writing, usually in a proposal or engagement letter, before work begins. We perform our services with reasonable skill and care and in line with the professional standards and the laws of Sri Lanka that apply to them.

3. Your responsibilities

• Give us complete, accurate and timely information and documents, and tell us promptly if anything changes.
• Keep your own records and make decisions that are yours to make, such as approving financial statements and returns before they are filed.
• Respond to our queries within a reasonable time. Delays on your side may delay filing dates and may lead to penalties for which we are not responsible.
• Pay our fees on time as set out in your engagement.

4. Fees and payment

Fees are quoted in Sri Lankan Rupees unless we agree otherwise and are exclusive of applicable taxes and statutory levies, third-party costs (for example filing fees and courier charges) and approved out-of-pocket expenses. Invoices are payable within the period shown on the invoice. We may suspend work on an overdue account after giving you notice.

Work outside the agreed scope is quoted and agreed with you before we carry it out.

5. Meetings and consultations

Meeting requests made through the website are requests only. A meeting is confirmed when we reply to you with a date and time. Please give us at least one business day of notice if you need to reschedule or cancel.

6. Confidentiality

We treat your information as confidential and use it only to provide your services, except where disclosure is required by law, by a regulator or court, or by professional standards, or where you have authorised it. Our people are bound by confidentiality obligations. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

7. Intellectual property

The website, its content, logos and design belong to MAS Associates or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without our written permission. Reports and documents we prepare for you may be used by you for the purpose they were prepared for. Our working papers and methods remain ours.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with our services is limited to the fees you paid us for the assignment concerned, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by incomplete or inaccurate information supplied to us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We do not guarantee any particular tax, audit or regulatory outcome, as these depend on facts, authorities and laws outside our control.

9. Use of the website

You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, or use it for unlawful purposes. We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we provide it as is and may change or withdraw content at any time. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.

10. Ending an engagement

Either party may end an engagement by written notice. You remain responsible for fees for work done and costs incurred up to the date of ending. Refunds, where applicable, are covered in our Refund Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute. We encourage you to raise any concern with us first so that we can try to resolve it directly.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed (27 October 2026). Continued use of the website or our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
